Used Car Auctions And The Disadvantage
Never trust any kind of title check at used car auctions always make sure to get your own verification. Remember that anyone selling a car at an auction is trying to make money and they are not just getting rid of the car to get rid of it. The majority of time they are just trying to make money and get rid of a piece of crap car.
By the time you are done bidding it is possible that you might be paying the same price that you would pay at a private dealer. The whole reason for going to an auction is to get a car cheaper than what you would at a private dealer. And some people travel quite far to go to these auctions. So when you think about it you might be in the hole after leaving the auction and you might as well go to a private dealer.
The majority of car sellers will not have a title and they will always say that the title is in transit. I once knew someone who waited four months for a title because the people kept jerking him around. Always make sure that you do not get caught up in a bidding war and end up paying way too much for the car. Do not ever forget that you will also have to pay a buyers premium.
There are a lot of places you can find auto auctions on-line and there are a lot of vehicles that you can get for a cheap price if you just use your head and remain calm and make sure to always keep a clear head and do not rush into things. If you rush into things this could result in you possibly getting a lemon.
Always make sure you have the money to cover a check that you might be writing at the auction. Some auctions will require a bank draft instead of a check so just make sure you are prepared for this. Make sure that your contract on the car states whether the title indication light was green, red or yellow. If you have a problem later and the title turns out to be a red light and they have put green then you have got the auction company if they scam you.
There are many auctions which offer cars at whole sale prices and these are for dealers. If you are a dealer then you most likely know what kind of deals you can get from these and what kind of lemons you also have been burdened with.
Always make sure to open every door on the vehicle you want. Also look under the hood and make sure that all of the Vin stickers are on the vehicle and that they all match with one another. Usually if they do not match the car was stolen and then again it might have been in a wreck and had replacement parts on it.
No matter what, always make sure that what you get is going to be worth the money that you pay for it because you do not want to get something that is a piece of crap and end up paying way more for it than what it is worth.
