Like seriously. All the used car dealers i have been to. The oil has been black, the cars have been dirty, and there was always something to repair that would have not cost them a lot to do themselves. Why is this? Do people think a car with minor repairs needed makes the car more negotiable, that way they think they are getting a good deal when they are not? Does dirt hide imperfections?

Some dealers are just stupid. They don’t understand basic marketing. Sub-consciously, when a customer sees a clean car that looks well maintained, he assumes the car is in good condition. When he sees a dirty car, he assumes the car is junk.
